Youth soccer

The Kinzua U-12 boys soccer team defeated Lake Erie Soccer Club, 10-3, on Sunday.

Goals for Kinzua were Connor Guiffre with three, Griffin Suppa two, Ian Goldthwaite two, Lionel Eason one, Carter Borland one, and Seth Harrington one.

Slow pitch champs
The Choice Hawks finished 6-0 and defeated Superior Tire on Sunday to win the season-opening Mike Kolos Sunday Slow Pitch League Tournament championship. Hawks, from left, in front, include Mark Crossley, Darren Trubic, Michael Garrett, Jim Newton and Jon Hoffman; middle row, Jerry VanOrd and Mike Wood, and; back row, Mike Crossley, Jack Rice, Mike Garrett, Vince Hoffman, Tim Sveda and Jeremy Blum. Missing from photo is Jake Trubic, Ben Paul, and Michael Sveda.

Tanner Kays had three assists, Eason two, Suppa one, Goldthwaite one, Harrington one, Jimmy Lobdell one, and Ryan Duckett one. Eason, Seth Harrington and Tommy Harrington were in goal for Kinzua (3-1).

The Kinzua U-10 Flatt co-ed soccer team defeated Shenango Valley, 7-2, on Sunday.

Thomas Lucks scored three goals, and Tyler Gustafson and Ryon Flatt each had two.

Brooklyn Neureiter had an assist for Kinzua, and Taylor Childress and AJ Seyler helped on defense for a second-half shutout. Paul Thomas also had a solid performance in the win. Jessica Susz and Lucks were in goal.

Horseshoes

The Warren County Horseshoe League will have another work bee at the fair grounds at 6 p.m. Monday evening for pitching the following week, weather permitting.
