ERIE - Warren won its second straight Region 6 game on Thursday, 4-0 over McDowell, sweeping the season series.
"(Warren pitcher Alexa Bupp) had great defense behind her today," said Warren coach Mark Bupp, whose Lady Dragons are 13-1 overall and 11-1 and tied for first place in the region.
Kaitlin Ishman led the stellar effort with four putouts and two assists from second base. Up 3-0 after one inning, Dragon third baseman Sam Bevevino pounced on a McDowell sacrifice bunt attempt to start a double play.
The Dragons jumped out to a 3-0 start thanks to singles from Ishman and Jaimie Eaton and a two-run single from Alexa Bupp. Taylor Mineweaser's two-out, bases-loaded walk made it 3-0.
Two McDowell errors led to Kristin Hultquist's RBI groundout in the second.
Bupp allowed two hits in the game, and only one after the leadoff hitter reached. Bupp (12-1) struck out five, and has shut out McDowell twice this season.
Warren hosts Mercyhurst Prep at 4 p.m. Monday.
Meg Loutzenhiser was the winning pitcher in a 2-1, three-hit junior varsity win over McDowell.

Venango Catholic 12, Tidioute Charter 5
OIL CITY - Tidioute Charter has come a long way in just a short amount of time.
In just seven games this season, the Lady Bulldogs improved to the point of going all seven innings with a talented team like Venango Catholic during a 12-5 loss to the Vikings on Thursday.
"This was the best game we played all season," said TCCS coach Jackie Nuttall. "There were just some awesome things those girls did out there tonight. It's great to see how far they've come as players in such a short season."
Venango Catholic jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings, but the Lady Bulldogs charged back. After back-to-back walks by Lacey Wolford and Anna Lindemuth, Loralee Lindemuth continued her big night with a two-run single that made it 5-2.
After shutting out the Vikings in the third, TCCS actually tied the game in the top of the fourth. A Robbi Kightlinger single started the rally and things continued when Anna Lindemuth was hit by a pitch. Loralee Lindemuth soon drove in both with a two-run single and Aubrey Sonney delivered the game-tying RBI single two batters later.
That would be the final run of the night for the visitors and the Lady Vikings would score the final seven runs of the contest to close things out at 12-5.
Loralee Lindemuth was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with a season-high four RBI.
Kightlinger, Sonney and Emalei Schaberl also had hits in defeat.
