2008 Warren Area High School graduate Tim Price recently completed a pair of marathons. On April 16, Price completed the Boston Marathon in Boston, Ma. Price finished the 26.2-mile event in just three hours, 16 minutes and 43 seconds.
Just 13 days later, Price competed in the Boston2Big Sur (Marathon) Challenge in Big Sur, Ca. There, Price finished the event in three hours, six minutes and two seconds. That time was good enough for third in the 20-24 year-old male category.

1997 Warren Area High School graduate Erik Werner has been named head football coach at Hornell High School in Hornell, N.Y. Werner takes over for Gene Mastin who guided the Red Raiders to three straight New York State Class B state championships, including the most recent - a 22-6 victory over Croton-Harmon at Syracuse University's Carrier Dome.
Werner played four years for the Dragons and went on to play center and tight end at Alfred University where he was a team captain his senior year.
Legion sign-ups
Legion sign-ups for Sugar Grove Post 758 will be between 6 and 7 p.m. Friday, after the Eisenhower game, at Werner Park in Russell.
