The Warren boys took one step closer to a region championship Tuesday, defeating the Oil City Oilers, 98-43, in track & field action at War Memorial Field.
Victories over Youngsville on Thursday and Eisenhower on Monday would cement the region crown for the Dragons.
Warren's girls track team was also a big winner Tuesday, defeating the Lady Oilers by a 109-32 count.

Warren’s Tanner Rosenberg leads teammate Jordan Willetts into the final stretch of the boys 400-meter run during Tuesday’s track & field meet with Oil City at War Memorial Field. The Dragons defeated the Oilers, 98-43.
The Warren boys actually trailed 25-24 after the points from the first five events were tallied. However, from that point on, Warren would outscore the visitors 74-18.
"It was just another great day," said Warren boys coach Steve Norris. "Austin Jerman had a great day in the javelin, throwing his best of the season and I was very pleased with Chris McNeal's showings in the discus and shot. It was also nice to see our 4X100 team win. I think we've thrown a different group out there every meet this year and they got to the line first today."
Tanner Rosenberg had his best day as a Dragon on Tuesday, winning in all four of his events. Rosenberg won the 400 with a run of 50.76 and the 800 in 2:07.13. Later, Rosenberg teamed with Luke Wortman, Caleb Hultman and Jordan Willetts to win the 1600 relay and with Hultman, Christian Harrington and Brad Simmons to win the 3200 relay.
Harrington would add an individual victory in the 1600, taking the top spot after Simmons was DQ'd. Simmons didn't let the DQ get him down and responded with a victory in the 3200.
Wortman's day included two individual wins - the 300 hurdles and the 200. Wortman doesn't typically run the 200, but he was still able to win the event with a time of 23.43.
Mark Davis was also a two-time winner, claiming the top spot in the triple jump and high jump. Austin Jerman won the javelin with a season-best throw of 163 feet and six and a half inches and he also teamed with Dakota Matson, Chris McNeal and Rob Bablak to win the 4X100 relay.
For the Lady Dragons, no one athlete had a better day than Sabrina Anderson. Anderson was a four-time winner and - despite a two-week layoff in jumping - tied the school record in the high jump with a leap of five feet, five inches.
"To put that kind of jump together after a two-week layoff is incredible," said Warren coach Mark Sweet. "She deserves to go into the record books and we're just thrilled to death with what she's done."
In addition to the school record in the high jump, Anderson was an individual winner in the 200 and 400 and was part of the winning 4X100 relay team with Kaitlyn Levesque, Brooke Armanini and Casey Kulka.
Ellis Beardsley had another strong day on the track, winning in three events. Beardsley won the 800 and 1600 as well as the 4X400 relay with Paige Rimer, Kulka and Anna Falvo. The 4X800 relay team of Shannon Cantrell, Amanda Castagnino, Tori Paris and Kara Spade was also victorious.
Rounding out the Dragons' individual winners were Kulka in the 100, Nikki Atkins in the shot, Amanda Pinkerton in the discus, Castagnino in the 3200 and Lindsay Onuffer in the 100 hurdles.
Sweet added that Justine Fox qualified for districts in the javelin, Rachel Lasecki qualified in both the 100 and 300 hurdles, Onuffer qualified in the 100 hurdles, Ashley Barker qualified in the long jump and Castagnino qualified in the 3200. Rimer added a personal best in the 800 as did the 4X100 relay team.
Warren's busy week continues Thursday when it visits county foe Youngsville.

No mercy.
The Sheffield boys track & field team remained unbeaten on the season, demolishing Smethport, 130-11, at Sheffield Area High School.
The Hubbers did gain a measure of revenge in the girls competition, pulling out a close 76-65 decision over the Lady Wolverines.
Individually, Kalil Slaughter again led the way with three victories. Slaughter won the 100 with a time of 11.0, cleared six feet in the high jump and soared 21 feet in the long jump.
Don Geisler and George Fitch were also multiple winners for the Wolverines. Geisler won the one mile and two mile in 5:21.3 and 12:33.4 respectively while Fitch won the discus (123'7) and javelin (132'6).
One-time individual winners for the winners were Mark Sprandle in the triple jump (37'3), Kwante Johnson in the 200 (24.2), Keon VonHendricks in the 400 (53.8), Steve Dendy in the 110 hurdles (18.9), Dylan McNeal in the 300 hurdles (51.7) and Shaquille Cousins in the shot put (40'8 1/2).
The Wolverines managed to sweep the relay events. Deonte Clay, Johnson, Dylan Reynolds and Slaughter made up the winning 4X100 team, Reynolds, Johnson, Marc Nadal and VonHendricks made up the winning 4X400 team and Ryan Johnston, Shequan Wright, Nadal and VonHendricks won the 4X800 relay.
"As a team, it was nice to get that Northern Tier win," said Sheffield boys track coach Bryan Gould. "Individually, we had some kids step up and get in some events they don't normally do."
One prime example was Kalil Slaughter, who doesn't normally compete in the high jump and won it with a six-foot jump - which puts him at five events qualified for districts.
Freshman "Adam Higby stepped up and got us a third place in 300 hurdles," said Gould. "Mark Sprandle had a personal best in triple jump, and George Fitch got a personal best in the discus, but also stepped up and got a third in the mile."
Despite having a roster with just 11 athletes, the Sheffield girls gave Smethport all it could handle.
Leading the way was freshman Jen Isenberg with individual victories in both the javelin and high jump. Isenberg cleared four feet, nine inches in the high jump and threw 96 feet and one inch in the javelin.
Jade Moore won the long jump and qualified for districts with a leap of 15 feet, one and one-quarter inch, Ashley Davidson won the triple jump with a leap of 29 feet, three and one-half inches and Hannah Vile won the 100 with a run of 14.1 seconds.
Sheffield earned one victory in the relay events, winning the 4X100 with Moore, Marlea Sprandle, Davidson and Vile.
"It went really well," said Sheffield girls track coach Jenelle Johnson, whose Lady Wolverines nearly won with just 12 athletes. "We definitely gave them a run for their money. I'm so proud of them."
In all for the Lady Wolverines, 10 athletes had personal-best results, including: Davidson, long and triple and part of the 400 relay; Hannah Vile, 100 and 200 and part of the 400 relay; Marlea Sprandle, 100 and 200 and part of the 400 relay and 1600 relay; Moore, long and triple and part of the 400 relay and 1600 relay; Brandy Rockwell. 1600 relay; Juli Ely, discus and also part of the 1600 relay; Abby Labesky, javelin; Tierra Hansen, discus; Cheyenne Wills, shot and discus; and Isenberg, discus and shot.
The Wolverines are back in action Thursday when they travel to Port Allegany for an important meet with the host Gators, Northern Potter and Cameron County.
