Primary voting

May 2, 2012
The Times Observer

Dear editor:

I read and agree with Lori Crossley that we should all vote when possible in every election, however the state of Pennnsylvania does not allow for me to vote for whoever I choose to vote for because it does not have an open primary system.

That is one thing that should be addressed in government. That would make it easier to vote for all registered voters, including the independents who might not have a candidate running in a primary. They can't vote at all.

I am a registered Democrat but that does not necessarily mean I wish to vote for one in every primary.

Why is this not an open primary system? Anybody in the legislature care to answer why not?

Respectfully submitted,

Dan Tassone, Warren
