Stateline news
Busti, N.Y.'s Stateline Speedway will hold its second practice session of the season from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday. The season's opening night will be held Saturday, May 5, with double points awarded and a Super Late Model "Run for the Money" event.
Time change
The Warren at Oil City baseball game scheduled for Saturday will now be played at Warren's Old Legion Field. First pitch for the varsity game is scheduled for noon.
Schedule change
The General McLane at Warren high school boys tennis match, originally scheduled for Friday, will be played on Monday. The Warren at Harbor Creek boys tennis match scheduled for Monday will now be made up at a later date.
Tough Mudder
Warren's Brian Haines teamed up with Warren-native Chris Meyers to complete an 11.5-mile Tough Mudder event on April 4 in South Amherst, Ohio. The 11.5-mile course had 27 obstacles, and Haines and Meyers finished in the top five percent of close to 13,000 participants in under three hours.
Designed to test strength, stamina and physical and mental grit, the famous Tough Mudder competition took place in a sandstone quarry on a course designed by British Special Forces, and includes natural and man-made obstacles like woods, creeks and mud holes.
Chautauqua trap
The 2012 Chautauqua County Trap League got underway Thursday evening with a bang. Busti was able to overcome Celoron, 376-375, when they went to the eighth score to break a tie for the evening. Randolph outgunned Carroll, 344-326, in the other match for the night. Jim Congdon and Marty Gawron had 50's for the night.
High ladies were Tiffany Decker and Rose Corbran with 46. High junior was Tyler chase with a 48. High sub-junior was Andrew Hvizdzak with a 46. High vet was Dave Straight with a 47. High senior vet was Gary Sickles with a 49. High super senior vet was Bill Dallas with 45.

Fund-raiser
The Youngsville High School Scholarship Committee will hold its 19th annual golf scramble on Saturday, May 19, at Cable Hollow Golf Course. The event is slated for an 8:30 a.m. start.
There is a $200-per-foursome entry, and $71,000 in scholarships have been awarded to 88 students since the scramble's inception. The Class of 2012 will be awarded ten $1,000 scholarships.
Divisions include both scratch and peoria, and the field is limited to the first 33 teams.
