EDINBORO - It wasn't a very good day for a ballgame.
But it was a good day for Warren's baseball team, which left with a 5-2 Region 8 win over General McLane and a share of first place.
"We leave here tied for first place," said Warren coach Jeff Passaro, whose Dragons are 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the region. McLane is now 3-1 in the region.
On a dreary day, Eddie Dorunda threw a complete game, striking out seven and walking one.
Passaro said Dorunda allowed a run on three hits in the first and then settled down to allow just three more hits the rest of the way. McLane's Chad Kulka had three of the Lancers' six hits.
Tied 1-1 after three innings, Matt Jaskolka and Preston McMeans started the fourth with singles. Jaskolka scored on an RBI single from Collin Fantaskey, and Chris Danielson knocked in McMeans. Kory Thomas drove in the third run of the inning with a sacrifice fly.
Warren added another run in the fifth on a Kevin VanOrd RBI single.
The Dragons made the most of six hits, and take on Corry in another region game on Friday at Old Legion Field.
