Cassi Swartzbaugh is no stranger to the cinder track at Youngsville High School. Last week, she finished first in four events -the 100-meter and 300 hurdles, triple jump, and was part of the winning 1600 relay - to help the Lady Eagles beat Eisenhower. More amazingly, Swartzbaugh tied the school record in the 100 hurdles at 16.73 seconds. Keep in mind, she tied the school record on a cinder track, which typically sees slower times, by far. It's also pretty early in the season, and the hope is Swartzbaugh's just getting started. The senior, who finished third in the 300 hurdles at last year's district meet, is the Times Observer Athlete of the Week, sponsored by McDonald's.
