Doubling Up
Warren's Nick Tarpenning warms up while doubles partner Drew Lobdell awaits his turn in the background during a match against Girard at Betts Park Wednesday. It was Lobdell's first match of the season after recovering from a knee injury.
"This was Drew's first return to the line-up this year. He played well today," said Warren coach Jeff Bartsch.
Girard brought a large squad, which gave the entire Dragon team a chance to play. Winning exhibition doubles were the pairs of Ylli Bakalli and Quinn Boger; Tyler Madigan and Wyatt Pierson; Neil Morrison and Sean McGuinness; Bryce Bauer and Eric Cecco, and; Hunter Mohney and Max Pierson. Performing "exceptionally well," said Bartsch, were Nick Pellegrino, Alex Bailey, Dylan Hanson, Teddy Leos and Christian Olson.
The Dragons are now 13-0 on the season, and 9-0 in Region 2 play.
"The Dragons have three remaining regular-season matches and they are all region matches," said Warren assistant coach Norm Dziendziel.
On Friday, the Dragons will host the Lancers of General McLane in their final home appearance of the season.
