Cycling

Three Teamwarrenadventures.com/Allegheny Cyclery cyclists competed on Sunday in the second round (of six) of the 2012 Eric Chautauqua Bicyclist Association (ECBC) Spring Training Series in Fairview. All from Warren, Kristen Ewings was third in the Women's Division, Jeremy Bickling fifth in the Men's Elite A Division, and Alex Phillips seventh in the Men's Elite B Division.

The team will continue to compete in the Erie-based training series in preparation for the Tour de Russell, which takes place May 26 in Russell.

Warren’s high school track meet against Meadville on Tuesday at War Memorial Field has already been postponed to Thursday. Events from Saturday, Monday and even today have been rescheduled for later in the week. For a schedule of events, see Varsity Slate in the Sports Scoreboard on page B-4, and Sports Briefly... on page B-3. Above, Jordan Willetts, right, competes in the 100-meter dash at Saturday’s Hermitage Invitational. On a wet track, Willetts joined Luke Wortman, Caleb Hultman and Tanner Rosenberg to set a meet record in the 4X400 relay.

The Youngsville at Corry high school track meet, originally scheduled for 4 p.m. Tuesday at Corry High School, has been rescheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday there.

The Eisenhower at Northwestern high school softball game postponed on Saturday has been rescheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at Northwestern High School in Albion.

The Warren at Corry high school tennis match postponed on Monday has been rescheduled for 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, in Corry.

The Youngsville at Eisenhower high school baseball game postponed on Monday has been rescheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, May 4, at Werner Park in Russell.

The Warren at Oil City high school baseball game postponed on Monday has been rescheduled for noon Saturday. Varsity will play first with junior varsity to follow.

The Warren at Corry high school softball game postponed on Monday has been rescheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday. Varsity will play first with junior varsity to follow.

The Meadville at Warren high school track, originally scheduled for Tuesday, has been rescheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday at War Memorial Field in Warren.

The Youngsville at Seneca high school softball game postponed on Saturday has been rescheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday at Seneca.

The Eisenhower at Titusville junior high track and field meet scheduled for Monday was postponed with no make-up date announced.

The Johnsonburg at Sheffield high school softball game on Monday was postponed with no make-up date announced.

Youth soccer

The Kinzua U12 boys soccer team defeated Meadville, 6-4, Sunday. Troy Shattuck led the winners with three goals and Lionel Eason, Seth Harrington and Tanner Kays added one each. Griffin Suppa and Connor Guiffre had two assists and Harrington and Eason added one. Harrington, Carter Borland, Eason and Tommy Harrington all split time in goal.

Gymnastics

Members of the Warren County YMCA Powerhouse gymnastics team participated in the Level 5 & Up State Championships Saturday in Hanover. Here are the results from that competition. In addition, the results from Warren's participation at the No Foolin' Around Invitational held Sunday, April 1, in Franklin are also included.

Sheffield's winning 4X100 boys relay team from the Kane Invitational on Saturday was made up of Kalil Slaughter, Deonte Clay, Kwante Johnson and Dylan Reynolds. Their time of 44.79 seconds is less than one second off the school record.

Sheffield's sixth-place 4X400 relay team was made up of Johnson, Marc Nadal, Keon VonHendricks and Reynolds.
