College news

Warren Area High School graduate and Bloomsburg University men's tennis player Jeff Nuhfer helped the Huskies to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship on Saturday. The PSAC title was the Huskies first since the 2008 season and the team beat three-time defending champion Kutztown, 5-0, in the tournament final.

Nuhfer finished the tournament with a record of 4-0 with victories at second doubles and fourth singles. In singles play, he won 24 of the 26 games he played. For his efforts, Nuhfer was named tournament MVP.

Bloomsburg will host Bucknell on Wednesday before beginning play in the NCAA Regionals.

The Warren at Corry softball game originally scheduled for Saturday was postponed. The game will be made up at 4 p.m. Monday at Corry Area High School.

The Warren at Oil City baseball game originally scheduled for Monday has been postponed. The game will be made up at 11 a.m. Saturday.

The Youngsville at Seneca softball game originally scheduled for Saturday was postponed. No make-up date has been announced.

The Eisenhower at Northwestern softball game originally scheduled for Saturday was postponed. No make-up date has been announced.

All Little League games scheduled for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday have been postponed due to pending winter weather.

Youth soccer

The Kinzua U-10 Flatt co-ed soccer team defeated Titusville, 9-2, on Sunday. Tyler Gustafson led the winners with four goals, Ryon Flatt scored twice and Thomas Lucks, Jessica Susz and Ethan Mays added one goal each. Defensive standouts included Taylor Childress and A.J. Seyler. Susz and Lucks shared time in goal.
