Warren

Simple assault. Warren City Police reported that Robert L. Machemer, Warren, as taken into custody and charged on April 6 at 1:44 a.m. after officers were dispatched to his residence for a physical domestic dispute with a known female. He has been charged with simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

Resisting arrest. Warren City Police reported that Michael D. Knight, 22 Buchanan Street, was taken into custody and charged on April 6 at midnight after officers were dispatched to his residence on a report from a known female that Knight was smoking marijuana. He attempted to pull away and kick an officer as he was being placed in the patrol vehicle. He has been charged with resisting arrest, multiple counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a small amount of marijuana.

DUI. Warren City Police reported that Kenneth C. Hannah, Clarendon, was taken into custody on Allegany Drive on April 5 at 10:47 p.m. after he was involved in a hit and run accident on Third Avenue. Hannah struck a mailbox on the north side of the roadway and also struck a 2003 Buick Rendezvous owned by Spencer Duffee, Warren, in the driver's side door while Duffee was in the vehicle. Hannah continued westbound after striking the vehicle, failing to stop at the scene of the accident. Hannah has been charged with DUI: general impairment, DUI: accident, DUI: highest rate of alcohol, accident involving damage to attended vehicle, and accident involving damage to property.

Criminal mischief. Warren City Police cited David E. Snyder, Warren, after he slashed the tire of a known person on April 4 at 11:50 p.m. while the vehicle was parked in the Tim Horton's parking lot.

Criminal trespass. Warren City Police reported that Alison S. Skaggs, Clarendon, was cited after she was at 6 Schantz Street on April 5 at 2:30 p.m. after being advised by the owner of the property on April 2 that she was not permitted there. The notice of trespass was given to her in front of an officer.

Public drunkenness. Warren City Police reported that Troy L. Dexter, Warren, was cited after he was observed on April 9 at 12:51 a.m. stumbling and falling into the roadway at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Marion Street.

Scam. Warren City Police would like to warn residents of this scam. On April 5, an unknown male with an Indian accent called the residence of a city resident and advised them he was from Microsoft and stated that there was something wrong with their computer. The male asked if any one was currently on the computer. The resident said no and logged in per the males request. Once logged into the computer, the male hooked himself up remotely to the computer and started making changes while speaking to the resident on the phone. The male disabled all applications on the computer so that it could not be accessed after hanging up the phone. Several phone calls came afterwards from the same male advising the resident that his computer was disabled and that the resident would have to purchase protection from his company to gain access to his computer. The resident has been able to recover most of his applications.

Mead Twp.

Burglary. Warren-based State Police reported that, stemming from an incident on October 22, 2011, Courtney Marie Edwards, Jamestown, NY, was arrested and charged with felony burglary, felony criminal trespass, misdemeanor theft, and criminal mischief on April 11. Further action is pending.

Pittsfield Twp.

Harassment. Warren-based State Police reported investigating an incident of harassment which occurred between 5:30 and 5:50 p.m., April 10, on Pulfer Hill Rd., in Pittsfield Township. According to police, Christopher Joe Bloom, Daniell Tymensky, and Nicholas Keith Bennet, all of Pittsfield, became involved in a physical altercation. Charges of harassment against the three have been filed with District JusticeCynthia Lindemuth's office.
