YHS Activities

The Science Symposium is Friday, April 13, in the YHS gymnasium. Also that day is the charity basketball game. Doors open at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served and all proceeds will go to the FOP Lodge 83 and the Veterans of Warren County.

BSVP Staff

Youngsville Borough will be accepting applications for staff at the Brokenstraw Valley Swimming Pool through April 16. Applications can be picked up at the Borough office, 40 Railroad street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

Spring Clean up

Youngsville Borough Residents will have Spring Clean up on Saturday, April 14, at the Boro building. parking lot at 40 Railroad St. from 8 a.m. to noon. Minimum fees are $10/car and $20/truck. ID required, please NO tires, batteries, paint cans, propane tanks, or other hazardous materials. If you have any questions you can call the Borough office at 563-4604.

Memorial Fun Auction

The Irvine Presbyterian Church is having their annual Fun Auction on Sunday, April 15, starting at 1 p.m. There are a wide variety of items up for auction. It will be a delightful afternoon of fun and fellowship. Plan on coming to the Irvine Presbyterian Church, also known as "The Little Stone Church that Love Built." It is right next to the Post Office on the National Forge Road.

Lunches

Saron Lutheran Church will host a lunch at the Rouse Manor Apartments on Monday, April 16. Bible study begins at10:30 a.m. with lunch at noon.

Berea's Monthly soup luncheon will be held on Thursday, April 19, at noon in the education building. Soup this month is vegetable, with bread, dessert and beverage. All are welcome. Donations are accepted but not necessary.

Spaghetti dinner

Youngsville Eagle Instrumental Boosters are having a spaghetti dinner on Sunday, April 22 at the Youngsville Fire Hall from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The cost is a donation.

Art and Vino

Remember to support the Revitalization of Youngsville fundraising efforts on Sat., April 21st at the Fine Art and Vino Venue from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Youngsville Fire Hall. Admission is free and includes artisans, vendors, food, live music, wineries, WAL Chair-ity, Chinese Auction, and wine trivia games. Rouse Manor lunch

A "Senior Lunch" was held Monday, March 26, at Rouse Manor by the Youngsville First United Methodist Church. The Christian Service Sunday School Class and other church members will be providing a lunch on the fourth Monday of each month. On Mon., April 23 the menu will consist of macaroni salad, hot dogs, fruit, and dessert.

Borough taxes

Friday, April 27th is the last day to pay your 2011 real estate taxes at the Borough office. All payments must be put in payment slot by 4 p.m. on April 27 or postmarked by April 27. All payments received after April 27th will be returned.

Spring Auction

The Annual Spring Auction, a popular silent auction benefitting the Rouse residents, will be held on Saturday, April 28 at the Youngsville Fire Hall at 11 a.m., with a lunch available by the Youngsville VFD Auxiliary. There will be many of items to bid on including the following: antiques, collectibles, theme-filled baskets, baked goods, candies, gift certificates, and much more. Bid sheets will be placed in front of each item or you may add an additional one dollar or more increments on as many items as you choose to bid on.

They will also have tickets for chances on three Lottery/Cash trees ($50-$75-$100), and a Family Gift Basket worth over $50. Tickets for these items are $1 each or 10 tickets for $5. You need not be present to win. Bidding stops at 12:30 p.m. with announcement of winners at 12:35 p.m. There will also be a bake sale. Be sure to set aside time to come to the fire hall and support the Friends of Rouse and see what they have in store for you. Advance tickets are available at the Youngsville Pharmacy, Rouse Activities office, receptionist desk, Dogwood room, from any Friends of the Rouse member, or by calling 814-563-6401 or 814-563-9310. Tickets available day of event. This fun filled event is open to the public.

BVSP

The Friends of Brokenstraw Valley Swimming Pool are holding a Dinner Theater on Sat., April 28th at the Warren Elks Club. Tickets cost $40 which will include refreshments, dinner, and 2 theater performances by the A.C.E. Productions. Drug Take Back

The Youngsville Police Department will conduct a drop off for any unused, unwanted, or expired medications, pills or liquids on Saturday, April 28th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in conjunction with the Drug Take Back Program. They do NOT take syringes.

Scholarships

The Youngsville High School Alumni Scholarship application is now available in the YHS Guidance Office. Applications may also be accessed through the District website at: www.wcsdpa.org, under the Youngsville High School, Guidance Office tabs.

This award is open to all YHS seniors who plan to continue their education in a post-secondary setting, whether a 2 or 4 year college or university or in any other technical or business program. Seniors are encouraged to apply for the money that has been so generously offered by the Alumni Association. The due date for this application to be returned to the guidance office is Friday, May 4.
