Warren Area High School graduate and Rochester Institute of Technology pitcher Tyler Leichtenberger extended his own school record with his sixth save of the season during the team's 10-8 victory over Vasser Friday in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Leichtenberger pitched three up and three down ball in the ninth inning to secure the win. Leichtenberger is currently tied for third in the Division III baseball rankings.
In Saturday's 23-2 loss to Vasser on Saturday, Leichtenberger pitched a scoreless ninth inning.
To date, the Warren product has a 1.64 ERA and is holding the opposition to a .195 batting average.
Rescheduled
The Iroquois at Youngsville girls softball game originally scheduled for Tuesday was postponed. The game will be made up at 4 p.m. Friday at Youngsville High School.
Gymnastics
Several Warren County gymnasts, representing the Lakewood Starz gymnastics team competed at the Not Folling Around Invitational hosted by the Franklin YMCA gymnastics team on Sunday, April 1. An individual first-place award was won by Madison Dorman.
