Dear editor:
I am writing in the hopes that all members of our Warren County School Board have full knowledge and understanding as to just how the granting of the Eisenhower Charter School will impact all of the students, staff, administration, and taxpayers of the WCSD.
I also want to urge each of them to vote NO on the granting of the Eisenhower Charter because I have been unable to locate anywhere in the 1,557-page application any evidence - I repeat, any evidence - that the WCSD has failed to provide an adequate education to the Eisenhower Middle/High School students. In addition, the only public meeting held on March 26th with the CSOI group, which I believe is a sincere, hard working, well-intentioned group of individuals, also failed to mention any failure of the WCSD to educate the Eisenhower Middle/High School students. Therefore, it is my opinion that the creation of the Charter School is destined to have a very negative impact on the education of the remaining students in the WCSD and will lead to the eventual demise of the Public School System throughout Warren County.
In the event the Board does not vote to approve the Charter and their decision is appealed and overturned by the Charter School Appeal Board, then so be it. However, each board member that voted NO will always be able to look in the eyes of each student, staff member, administrator, and taxpayer of the WCSD over the many years to come and honestly say, "Yes, it happened on my watch, but I didn't vote to approve it."
In conclusion, I again urge the Warren County School Board members to vote NO on the granting of the Eisenhower Middle High School Charter.
Thank you for the opportunity to share my views with your readers.
Sincerely,
Dennis L. Bonace
Warren
