GIRARD -Youngsville got good pitching, defense and timely hitting in a 5-2 Region 4 win on Tuesday over Girard.
Amber Fox struck out 14 and worked her way out of jams, scattering six hits and six walks for Youngsville (3-1 overall and 2-1 in region).
"They played good all-around ball," said Youngsville coach Mark Nyquist. "Errorless ball."
Colleen Rex started things off with a single and eventually came around on a Fox single to make it 1-0 Youngsville. The Lady Eagles scored twice in the second on Judi Lewis' RBI double and Julia Sveda's RBI single. Up 3-1, Youngsville scored twice more in the third inning.

Warren 8, Cambridge Springs 0
CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS - Alexa Bupp had a good day.
Actually, the whole Warren offense had a good day, but waited until the fifth inning to break through in an 8-0 non-region win over Cambridge Springs on Tuesday.
"Overall, I'm just happy with the way the team hit," said Warren coach Mark Bupp, whose Dragons are off to a 2-0 start. The Lady Dragons finished with 16 hits as a team, but had left seven runners on base through the first four innings.
"(Alexa Bupp's) first home run helped us break through, but an important part was (Rachel Hasselman's) base hit to get us started," he said.
Hasselman had a two-out single in the top of the fifth that preceded Bupp's first of two homers on the game.
Bupp finished with a double, two home runs and four RBI in the shutout win. Kristin Hultquist had an RBI single in the sixth before Bupp's second two-run homer.
Kennedy Walter singled in the seventh inning, stole second, and eventually came around on Kaitlin Ishman's RBI single. Ishman scored on another RBI hit by Hultquist, and Hasselman finished the scoring with a sac fly.
Bupp and Sam Bevevino each had three hits for Warren. Jaimie Eaton, Hultquist and Walter had two hits each.
Bupp fanned 13 batters, walking just one, in the complete-game, three-hit shutout.
Taylor Mineweaser and Walter were each 4-for-4, and Meg Loutzenhiser struck out seven, in a 16-1 Warren junior varsity (1-1) win. Erica Blair had a double and a triple for Warren.
