TITUSVILLE - The Warren Tennis Dragons picked up their fifth win in as many outings as they defeated host Titusville by a 5-0 score on Monday.
Dragon singles players Shane Burns, Thomas Pellegrino and Matt Sandberg each won 6-0, 6-0.
"Though the scores appear lopsided, Titusville has a pretty good squad of athletes," said Warren coach Jeff Bartsch. "Top Rocket Renata Drusko gave Shane a good match, as did Shannon Daugherty with Thomas. Our boys had to work the points today. And, we had to stay focused. I was pleased with our focus of staying on plan."
Ylli Bakalli and Nick Tarpenning won second doubles with a 6-0, 6-0 margin. Top doubles Grayson Foley and Nate Sandberg won 6-0, 6-1. Wyatt Pierson and Tyler Madigan won their exhibition doubles match by an 8-0 score.
Last weekend, the Dragons traveled to Orchard Park and played a controlled, timed scrimmage with one of the top teams in western New York.
"We held our own and because of this type of scrimmage; our Dragons are energized to perform at a higher level of play," said Bartsch.
The Dragons are now 5-0 on the season, and 1-0 in Region2. The Dragons host Corry at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
