Eisenhower spotted visiting Villa Maria an eight-run through two and a half innings on a chilly Thursday afternoon, falling to 0-2 on the young season with an 11-5 loss to the Victors at Eisenhower High School.
With the temperature in the mid-30's at first pitch, the Victors bats were warmed up from the opening pitch. After scoring twice in the first inning, Villa Maria added five runs in the second and another two-spot in the third.
Ike scored single runs in the first and third innings before exploding for three more runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Eisenhower pitcher Haylie Birt fires a pitch toward home plate during the second inning of a softball game with Villa Maria Thursday at Eisenhower High School. See page B-1.
Haylie Birt had three hits for the second straight game and Kelsey Repke added three hits of her own. Kearsten Maine had two hits and Brooke Stanton, Dakota Williams, Kristen Williams and Ashley Barnett had one each as the Knights pounded out 12 hits. Birt had a double and a team-high two RBI in defeat.
"Just about everybody in the lineup hit the ball again," said Eisenhower coach R.J. Williams. "We just need that big burst to push the runs across the plate. A little more timely hitting would go a long way for us."
Williams was also pleased with the strong play of his defense. He said the team made "some really nice plays in the field" and that Jessica Byrd "turned a great double play."
The Knights look for their first win of the season on Tuesday at Fairview.

Youngsville softball coach Mark Nyquist thinks the Lady Eagles should have had this one.
He also thinks the Eagles proved a lot by playing with the defending region champs on Thursday at Youngsville High School.
Youngsville trailed 3-0 and 4-2 before battling back to tie the game, losing 5-4 to Fairview in eight innings.
"The kids battled back," said Nyquist. "We could have had this one, but I'm pleased with he way they played."
Amber Fox came through pitching and at the plate for the Eagles (1-1).
Fox, a senior, struck out nine, allowing just two walks and five hits, in eight innings. Only two runs were earned.
Fox tripled in a run in the bottom of the fifth inning to pull Youngsville to within a run, and doubled in the tying run with two outs in the seventh.
Youngsville actually outhit Fairview, 7-5, and had five extra-base hits, including doubled from Colleen Rex and Elise Dunn, and a triple by Shelby Anderson. Rex scored twice, and Katie Gustafson added two hits in the loss.
Raven Rozantz struck out 17 batters for the defending champion Fairview, which finished 21-1 last season, including a strike out with runners on second and third to end the game.
