Conewango Twp.
Retail theft. Conewango Township police reported that at 5 p.m. Thursday Sarah Mulligan, North Warren, pushed a shopping cart full of groceries, valued at $267.71, out of Wal-Mart without paying for them. She then proceeded to take the groceries to her residence. Police said they responded to the scene and contacted Mulligan at her residence. Mulligan then brought all of the stolen merchandise to Wal-Mart and police subsequently charged her with misdemeanor retail theft.
Farmington Twp.
Scattering rubbish. Warren-based state police said they were told that someone dumped trash on Preston Hollow Road, approximately two miles from Valentine Run Road, between Jan. 1 and March 19. Police said the names of two individuals were found in the garbage and the investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police or Warren County Crime Stoppers.
Pleasant Twp.
Assault. Warren-based state police reported that between May 28 and June 18, 2011, Bruce A. Messenheimer, Warren, had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old female. Police said Messenheimer was charged with statutory sexual assault, indeviant voluntary sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, and corruption of minors. Messenheimer was arraigned before District Justice Glenn Carlson on Tuesday. Bail was set at $15,000 and Messenheimer was remanded to the Warren County Jail.
Burglary. Warren-based state police reported that someone entered the home of Constance Zaffino, Drumcliffe Drive, and removed an iPad estimated at $200.
Forest County
Crash. Marienville-based state police responded to an accident at 5:28 p.m. Wednesday on Route 62 approximately two miles north of Endeavor. According to police, a 54-year-old male from Tidioute was operating a 2004 American IronHorse motorcycle and lost control while negotiating a left curve in the roadway. Police said the motorcycle traveled off the east shoulder, struck an embankment and re-entered the roadway. The operator subsequently laid the bike down on its side. Police said the operator and passenger were thrown from the motorcycle. The operator sustained moderate injury and the passenger, a female, sustained major injury. Both were flown by helicopter to UPMC Hamot, Erie. West Hickory and Tionesta volunteer firefighters assisted at the scene.
