Spear Proukou and Ed Penning each hit 49 out of 50 to lead the t. Patrick's 50 Bird Wobble Shoot on Saturday at the Kalbfus Club. Chuck Loomis, Bob Faga, Ken Anderson, Brian Ecelberger and Denny Joy each shot 48, and Roger Retzinger finished with 47 out of 50.

Warren PJW state qualifiers
This group of Warren wrestlers qualified for the Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling (PJW) State Championships this weekend in Hershey by finishing in the top two in their respective age division and weight class at the Area 8 Championships held Friday and Saturday in Corry. The state tournament will take place this Friday and Saturday at the Hershey Park Arena. From left are Gabe Smead (2nd place, 11-12, 145); Jimmy Kramer (1st place, 9-10, 70), and; D.J. Fehlman (1st place, 13-14, 124).
In addition to Jimmy Kramer, Gabe Smead and D.J. Fehlman (pictured), who qualified for the PJW State Championships this weekend in Hershey, several other Warren-area wrestlers placed in the top four at this past weekend's PJW Area 8 Wrestling Tournament in Corry that did not qualify for states. They included: Winston Pillsbury (3rd, 9 & 10, 85); Carter Borland (3rd, 9&10, 150); Nick DeSimone (3rd, 11&12, 105); Blake Ristau (3rd, 13&14, 97); Derek Reagle (3rd, 13&14, 147); Collin DeLattre (3rd, 13&14, 124); Stephen Crone (3rd, 13&14, 212); Alex Anderson (4th, 9&10, 65), and; Kyle Traut (4th, 13&14, 167).

Youngsville High School graduate Ben Oviatt had his fourth complete-game win in four starts for Division III Waynesburg University on Monday in a 5-3 victory over Penn State Behrend in Waynesburg.
Oviatt (4-0) didn't allow a run over the final four innings for Waynesburg (9-3), striking out four and allowing seven hits without a walk.
