Warren County's Nic Allen was one of the four regular defensemen for the 1998 Erie Lions AA Bantam Minor hockey team. The Lions finished their Western New York Amateur Hockey League season with a perfect record of 20-0 with the last game being played Sunday against the Perinton Blades.
The win gave Erie the 2011-12 Bantam AA Minor WNYAHL league championship. The teams skated on neutral ice in Cheektowaga, N.Y. for three 15-minute periods and Erie was a 7-3 winner.
The Lions also won the Fall Face Off Tournament in Erie in October and the championship trophy in the Bantam division at the Steel City Tournament in Pittsburgh in February.
