The Second Harvest Food Bank of NW PA will hold a mobile food pantry for residents of the Tidioute area who are in need of food assistance on Saturday, starting at 10 a.m.. The mobile food pantry will be held at the Tidioute Fire House, 228 Main Street, Tidioute.
There is not a pre-registration and participation in the mobile food pantry is free. Food will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. This mobile food pantry is sponsored by Northwest Savings Bank.
According to Pam Bova, Northwest Savings Bank Branch manager and the Tidioute event coordinator, "Second Harvest's mobile food pantry program has helped the Tidioute community to pull together and help each other. When we had our first mobile food pantry in June 2010, we only had a few volunteers from Northwest Savings Bank, the Boy Scouts and the Tidioute Lions Club.
"Over the last 20 months, our volunteer numbers have grown and now also include 10 members of the community, most who qualify to receive food. These volunteers are proof that giving back not only strengthens our communities, but inspires others to do their part," she said.
Second Harvest's mobile food pantry program has provided food relief for Warren County families in Clarendon, Tidioute, Sugar Grove and Youngsville.
