High school trap
Warren Area High School's spring trapshooting teams - Warren White and Blue, sponsored by Kalbfus Rod & Gun and Pine Grove Sportsmen clubs, respectively - will hold a joint meeting from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the Warren American Legion Upstairs Meeting Hall.
All first-time and returning members must attend with their parents or guardians.
Coaches will discuss schedules, hand out consent forms, finalize team rosters and discuss program and cost.
The meeting is open to all 9th- to 12th-grade students, even if you have or have not signed up previously.
Freshman hoops
The Warren Dragon Freshmen boys basketball team defeated Mercyhurst Prep, 50-48, on Friday afternoon at home in an exciting double-overtime game to end its season.
The Dragons trailed by as many as 11 points before rallying to send the game into OT.
Ryan Shattuck drained a 3-pointer as time expired in regulation to send it into overtime.
Matt Hultquist hit a driving layup in the second OT to help seal the victory.
Nathan Sandberg led the team with 14 points. Hultquist and Shattuck each chipped in with 11 points for the Dragons, which ended at 12-6 overall.
