Youngsville senior Josh Lewis is a returning regional qualifier. On Friday, his Eagles open the post-season at the District 10 Section 1-AA Tournament at Union City High School. In the meantime, Lewis is the Times Observer Athlete of the Week, sponsored by McDonald's. Lewis, as well as teammates Chester Ciukaj and Hunter Proctor, had big individual wins in a 42-30 Region 3 upset of HarborCreek. With the match in doubt, Ciukaj and Proctor earned pins at 120 and 132, respectively. Earlier, Lewis, not mentioned in the District 10 Class AA rankings, grabbed a close 5-4 decision at 160 pounds over HarborCreek's Kevin Nowakowski, ranked second in D-10 Class AA at 152 pounds. The Huskies bumped up wrestlers at 145, 152 and 160 in an effort to go 3-0 at those weights and take control of the match, according to Youngsville coach Scott Ishman, but Lewis had no part of it.
