Freshmen hoops
The Warren Dragons freshmen boys basketball team defeated Oil City, 38-27, on Wednesday at Warren Area High School. Matt Hultquist scored 15 points to lead the Dragons and John White hit some key free throws down the stretch.
The Dragons (10-6) host Central Tech at 4 p.m. Monday.

Eisenhower dropped a 52-14 junior varsity girls basketball decision to McDowell B Wednesday at Eisenhower High School. Danielle Bradish led the Knights with five points.

Jr. high hoops
The Beaty Blue junior high boys basketball team finished its season 16-3 after a 47-27 victory over Oil City Wednesday at Beaty-Warren Middle School. Avenging a loss from earlier this season, Beaty jumped out to an impressive 26-6 lead at halftime.
Evan Suppa led all scorers with 21 points and Devin Nowacki added 11. Ryan Skerda finished with four points, Logan Galloway with three and Andrew Gignac, Anthony Deppas, Tyler Oudinot and Mark Reiff all scored two points each.
Youth soccer
The Eisenhower junior varsity girls soccer team defeated Southwestern, 6-2, recently in Lakewood Family YMCA Indoor Soccer League play recently. Taylor Zachar scored two goals and Paige Parmenter, Kaitlyn Blake, Ashley Pitchford and Hayleigh Hishman scored one goal each. Lindsey McMillen and Parmenter split time in goal.
College news
Warren Area High School graduate and Pitt-Bradford freshman men's basketball player Tyler Fantaskey played for the Panthers during a 68-51 loss to Penn State Behrend Wednesday. Fantaskey and the Panthers (9-12) are back in action Saturday, visiting La Roche.
