ERIE - Katie Chuzie had five 3-pointers and 27 points - including 10 points in a 19-12 fourth-quarter comeback - to lift Youngsville to a 52-48 win over Iroquois on Friday at Iroquois.
"Katie Chuzie had an amazing game," said Youngsville coach Allison Kitchel, whose Eagles are 9-7 overall. Iroquois is 3-15.
"It was a team effort," said Kitchel. "I was really proud of the girls. They didn't give up."
Youngsville trailed 36-33 after three quarters and by as many as eight in the fourth before storming back. With Youngsville trailing by two, 48-46, Iroquois went into a stall game before the Eagles' Amber Fox grabbed the ball and forced a turnover. Lindsey Lyon hit the tying and go-ahead shots. Iroquois eventually had to foul and Chuzie hit 2-of-2 free throws late to seal the win.
Chuzie had 15 points in the first half. Lyon finished with 11 points, and Fox eight in the win.
Twin sisters Karissa and Kennedy Cratty scored 10 points each in a 40-36 Youngsville junior varsity win.

Sheffield 44, Ridgway 38
Sheffield won its third game of the season on Friday, outscoring Ridgway 15-8 in the third quarter and holding on for the win on senior night.
Juli Ely, and injured teammate Sarah Hoden, are the Wolverines only seniors.
Ely finished with six points, Hannah Vile seven points and 11 rebounds, Ashley Davidson six points and six assists, Abby Labesky seven points and Jen Isenberg 15 points in "a total team effort," said Sheffield coach Jeff Labesky.
"In the third quarter we got the pace picked up," he said.
The Lady Wolverines are 3-16 overall (two wins over Ridgway).
Sheffield's J.V. team got its first win, 32-26, and Jade Moore led with 16 points.

Rocky Grove used a 21-4 second quarter to run away from Tidioute Charter on Friday at Tidioute Community Charter School.
Loralee Lindemuth scored nine of Tidioute's 17 points, and the Lady Bulldogs fall to 1-12 on the season.
Tidioute hosts Warren County Christian on Monday with three games remaining on the schedule.

WCCS 44, Jamestown Bethel 35
JAMESTOWN, N.Y. - Warren County Christian School cruised to its fourth win of the season Friday, building a big lead and spoiling Jamestown Bethel's Senior Night with a 44-35 victory.
"We came out hard and were able to build a commanding lead," said WCCS coach Rae Parmeter. "I'm so proud of these girls. The improvement they continue to show is very impressive."
Allyssa Kerr and Dymphee Zortman both reached double figures for the Lady Lions (4-7). Kerr had 11 points and eight rebounds and Zortman added 10 points and nine steals. Rachel Wilkins added seven points and Christina Girard, Kim Drake and Caitlin McCall all finished with four points for the winners.
The Lady Lions return to the court Monday at Tidioute Charter.
