Little League registration

Warren County Youth Baseball and Softball Association (WCYBSA) registration will be online this year, beginning Monday, Feb. 6, at www.wcybsa.org.

MMA success
Warren’s Anthony Durnell, a former Air Force Staff Sergeant and veteran of the Gulf War, recently earned his 11th career Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) victory in his 14th professional fight (6-1 in the United States). The victory came Saturday, Jan. 28, in Mansfield, Ohio. The event, Big Guns 9, featured Durnell defeating Rustin Jones at the 4:35 mark of the bout. Durnell won by TKO/RSC (referee stoppage from strikes) in the third round. Durnell’s performance earned him the “fight of the night” honor for the event.

College news

Sheffield Area High School graduate and Penn State DuBois senior women's basketball player Tessa Vargas scored 22 points and added four assists, three steals and three rebounds during a 77-74 loss win over Penn State-Fayette on Thursday. Vargas and the Lady Lions improved to 13-5 overall with the victory.
