HARBOR CREEK - Jaimie Eaton scored a season-high 25 points and Warren's girls basketball team won an important Region 6 game, 58-45, at HarborCreek on Monday.
Eaton, Emily Sherman and Alexa Bupp totaled 52 of Warren's 58 points, and the Dragons built a big lead in the second half.
HarborCreek made six 3-pointers in the second half just to keep it close.
"If you take those 3's away, we played a very good defensive game," said Warren coach Lisa Ruhlman, whose Lady Dragons are 11-4 overall and 5-3 and in fourth place in the region. HarborCreek is now 8-7 and 3-5. "We executed well. We handled the press very well and scored off of it very well."
Eaton continued her clutch play, and Warren won its fourth straight region game. Sherman scored 16 points and Bupp a season-high 11.
Kristin Hultquist finished with four points, five assists and three steals, Sabrina Anderson five rebounds, and Kristie Reynolds four assists.

Youngsville 52, Oil City 40
OIL CITY - Youngsville outscored Oil City 21-6 in the second quarter en route to a 52-40 win at Oil City Area High School.
Jorie Clark, Katie Chuzie, Amber Fox and Lyndsey Lyon all scored in double figures for Youngsville, which improves to 8-7 overall.
"They played a totally different ballgame (in the second quarter)," said Youngsville coach Allison Kitchel. "We need to keep the momentum going instead of stopping."
Jessica Jameson played well defensively on Oil City's leading scorer.

ST. MARYS - "The defense was stifling, to say the least," said Sheffield coach Jeff Labesky of the District 9 loss.
Elk County is 14-2 overall and 6-0 in the Allegheny Mountain League North. Sheffield is 2-15 and 0-6.
Despite the loss, Sheffield was able to get playing time for a lot of players. Sami Pollock had two 3-pointers and Hannah Vile led with eight rebounds. Abby Labesky had three assists.
