Crash. Warren-based state police reported John A. Hicks, 24, Corry, was driving a 1999 Ford Explorer with a male passenger, 1, north on Oil Creek Rd. at approximately 35 mph at 4 p.m. Jan 26. According to police, the Explorer was negotiating a steep downhill grade on an extremely icy roadway, when Hicks lost control of the vehicle. Police stated the Explorer began a yaw to the driver side, prior to sliding into the right shoulder ditch. Police reported the Explorer then rolled to the driver side, coming to rest on its roof in the right shoulder ditch. According to police, the Explorer received functional body damage and was towed from the scene. Police stated seat belts were used and Hicks suffered a minor injury. Police reported icy road conditions caused the accident.
