A difficult season for the Sheffield Lady Wolverines became a little bit more difficult Friday after a 54-24 loss to AML North-rival Kane.
Sheffield (2-14, 0-5) did a nice job of keeping pace with the up-tempo Wolves early on and trailed just 17-10 after the first quarter. However, in the second stanza, the Wolves went to aggressively attacking the basket and turned a seven-point lead into a 34-15 halftime advantage.
The Wolverines would limit Kane (12-5, 2-3) to just 20 second-half points, but the home team's offense never got on track in the final 16 minutes. Sheffield would score just nine points after intermission.

Kane's aggressive style of play was rewarded with a total of 27 foul shots. The Wolverines attempted just four.
Freshman Jen Isenberg continued a strong first campaign with a team-high eight points. Abby Labesky finished with seven points and Juli Ely chipped in five.
Kane also won the junior varsity game, 51-31. Tiera Hanson scored 12 points to lead the Wolverines.
Things don't get easier for the Wolverines. Sheffield visits AML North-leading Elk County Catholic (12-2, 4-0) on Monday.
