Warren Area High School graduate and Pitt-Bradford freshman men's basketball player Tyler Fantaskey scored all nine of his points from behind the three-point line during a 74-72 loss to Medaille on Wednesday. Fantaskey and the Panthers (8-10) return to the court Saturday, visiting Mount Aloysius.

Freshmen hoops
The Warren Dragons freshmen boys basketball team earned a 45-38 victory over Franklin on Wednesday. Nathan Sandberg paced the Warren effort with 20 points and Scott Vasilisin added nine points as the Dragons improved to 7-4 on the season.

Church softball
The Brokenstraw Valley Church Softball League would like to add some teams to its league for the upcoming season. The league is open to all churches within the Warren County area. If you would like to start a team for your church please contact Richard Knisley at 796-6721.
The league is for men and women aged 16 and older. Games will be held on Saturday and the season typically runs from early May until mid-August with a season-ending tournament to determine a league champion.
A minimum of eight teams is needed to revive the league with 10-12 teams being ideal.
Wrestling match
A varsity wrestling match between county rivals Youngsville and Sheffield has been added to the schedule. The match will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, February 3, at Youngsville High School.
Jr. high hoops
The Beaty Blue boys basketball team won a pair of junior high boys basketball games Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday, the Dragons defeated Franklin, 32-27. Devin Nowacki led the way with 14 points, Evan Suppa added eight points, Tristan Danielson scored three points and Ryan Skerda, Logan Galloway and Mark Reiff all scored two points each.
On Thursday, Beaty topped Meadville, 46-32. Suppa scored 14 points, Nowacki 10 points, Skerda and Reiff six points each and Andrew Gignac, Galloway, Anthony Deppas, Will Bablak and Anthony Citro two points each.
Beaty Blue (10-3) returns to action at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, visiting Eisenhower.
