Warren Area High School senior Hank Morrison proved his mettle last week in three Region 7 wins for the Dragons. While the Dragons have been getting impressive efforts from Morrison, Preston McMeans and Mark Davis all season long, Morrison combined the tangibles and intangibles in a monster week. Morrison had 17 points, six steals and three rebounds in a 73-46 win at Corry, and 18 points and 10 rebounds in a 79-54 rout of East. On Saturday, in a 38-32 slugfest at Girard, Morrison got clocked in the face and missed some time in the first half. He returned to spark Warren with his hustle, and with eight of his 10 points post-injury. "Big game (on Friday) against HarborCreek," he said on Thursday, deflecting the individual attention on to the team - as Hank does best. For his efforts last week (Jan. 15-21), Morrison is the Times Observer Athlete of the Week, sponsored by McDonald's.
