St. Luke in Washington
Pictured are Mike Donahue, Michael Donahue, Sara Marino, Lisa Marino, Sandi Mineweaser, and Aubrey May. They along with 25 others, including the pastor from St. Luke Church, participated in the annual March For Life Rally in Washington, D.C. Parishioners helped make up two busloads from Warren County, a first, and marched with over 250,000 others in witnessing to the right to life of the unborn.
Spaghetti dinner
The Youngsville Free Methodist Church will have a spaghetti dinner in Joy Hall on Fri., Jan. 27 from 4:30 until gone. This is to benefit Sarah Lucas' trip to Venezuela on Feb. 1st. She will be traveling to Venezuela with other churches for construction.

2012 Youth Free Throw Shooting Championship was held on Jan. 21, with winners that move on to the District Level competition on Sun., Jan. 29th in Warren at 12:30 pm. are the following:

14 Year old: Trevor Flinn
This year's regional level competition (for the Erie Diocese of NW PA) will be on Feb. 11 at Clarion High School at 12:30 p.m. State level competition will follow in March. Recognized were three of the council's past year's winners: Aspen and Trevor Flinn, and Karissa Cratty. They not only won at the council championship, but won again at both district and regional levels. They represented the Erie Diocese of NWPA with their excellent shooting at the 2010 (Trevor) and 2011 (Aspen and Karissa) Knights of Columbus State Level Championship. When you get to the State Level Championship, you are one of only six individuals competing for the State Championship in your age and gender class.
Community Cookbook
Mrs. Mack's 5th grade Language Arts class has taken on the mission of creating a Community Cookbook. What they need are your fabulous and famous recipes. Send your legible recipes to YEMS as soon as possible. Don't forget to include your name. They hope to have these community cookbooks available for purchase in the Spring. They will also hold an Art Contest for the cover illustration. Everyone is welcome to participate. Put your artwork on a 4 1/2" wide by 7 1/2" tall piece of paper. Please attach your name and phone number on a separate sheet of paper. They will accept recipes and artwork until Feb. 10. If you have any questions or would like to email your recipes, please send them to mackj@wcsdpa.org.
Joy Full Cafe
The community is invited to enjoy a free meal at the Youngsville Free Methodist Joy Full Cafe every Wednesday between 5:30 and 7 p.m. Chef Cline and his staff change the menu every week but the food is always tasty. After the meal, the Wednesday night Children's Program (20/20) starts at 6 p.m. and is an hour long. These classes are for children 3 years old and up to and including Grade 6. The "FUEL" Youth program for Grades 7 12 begins at 6:30 and runs until 8:30 p.m.
Consignment Auction
On Sun., Feb. 5, at the Garland Community Center, 204 Extension Road, Garland, there will be a consignment auction. Doors open at noon and auction begins at 1 p.m. This is a public consignment auction. Anyone may buy and anyone may bring new or used items to be auctioned. Consignment is 20 percent, owner will receive a check for 80 percent of final sale price. Proceeds benefit the Garland Community Center. We will accept all items with the exception of used clothing. If you own it, we will sell it. House wares such as dishes, cookware, movies, books, etc. should be boxed with like items and will be sold by the box-full. Items such as cars, boats, and RV's should be delivered with a title of ownership. Consignments will be accepted on Saturday, Feb. 4, 8 a.m. - noon, or by appointment. Raffle dinner
The Garland Community Center, 204 Extension Road, Garland will host a Raffle Dinner on Sunday, Feb. 12, from 1 p.m. with dinner served at 2 p.m. Free Admission, free dinner buffet, Chinese auction, raffles, 50/50, special kids games and prizes. This is an alcohol-free event, so bring the whole family for a night of fun and games.
Volleyball
There will be a girls volleyball meeting on Feb. 2 at the Youngsville High School cafeteria for girls and their parents grades 8-12 who are interested in playing volleyball for the upcoming 2012 school year.
