CORRY - Warren's girls basketball team jumped out to a 32-11 halftime lead en route to a 57-30 Region 6 win on Tuesday at Corry Area High School.
"They played a better overall game, still not a full four quarters, but they did some good things," said Warren coach Lisa Ruhlman, whose Dragons have won two region games in a row and are 9-4 overall and 3-3 in Region 6. Corry is 3-10 and 0-6.
Jaimie Eaton had 16 points to lead Warren, and Emily Sherman added 12 and six rebounds. Kristin Hultquist had eight rebounds and three blocks, and Sabrina Anderson added six rebounds. Taylor Mineweaser had six assists. Mineweaser and Kristie Reynolds played solid defensively on Corry's leading scorer coming in.
"It was hands down the best game Taylor's played all year," said Ruhlman.

Johnsonburg 60, Sheffield 19
JOHNSONBURG - Sheffield coach Jeff Labesky thinks his Wolverines "took a step back" during a 60-19 road loss to Johnsonburg on Tuesday.
"We came out intimidated and wouldn't shoot the open shots we were getting," he said. "It's hard to win when you're not willing to shoot the ball. (Johnsonburg) is a good team, but we certainly didn't play well tonight."
The Wolverines (2-13) were led by the seven points of Julie Ely. Jen Isenberg added four points in defeat.
Johnsonburg also won big in the junior varsity game, 54-13. Tiera Hansen's eight points paced the Wolverines.
Sheffield is back in action Friday, hosting Kane.

WCCS 40, Erie Bethel 23
Allyssa Kerr scored 20 of WCCS's 40 points to lead the Lady Lions to a 40-23 win over Erie Bethel Tuesday at Warren County Christian School.
Kerr also had 19 rebounds for a double-double, she also had five blocks and three steals on the night.
"We came out and learned from the game Thursday (at Erie Bethel)," said WCCS coach Rae Parmeter. "This was the best game we played all year."
The Lions (3-5) outscored the Warriors 14-5 and 11-2 in the first and third quarters, respectively, and limited Erie to single digits in the first three quarters. Dymphee Zortman had nine points, eight steals and seven rebounds in the win and Christina Girard added five points, six rebounds, five blocks and four steals.
"All (the girls) were involved and it was really rewarding to see," Parmeter said. "They really wanted this win, and so did I."
WCCS will travel to Meadville Calvary Baptist on Friday as part of a girls and boys doubleheader.
