CONNEAUT LAKE - Eisenhower's boys basketball team won its Region 3 opener, 55-41, at Conneaut Lake on Tuesday.
Joe Rutsky had a season-high 16 points and Aaron Lundmark scored nine of his 11 points in a 30-15 first half for Eisenhower, which is 7-5 overall.
Conneaut Lake is 4-9 overall and 0-2 in the region.
"We were more aggressive today as far as driving to the hoop," said Ike assistant coach Jacoby Curtis. "We weren't settling for 3-pointers."
Curtis said that's how Rutsky got almost all of his points, with putbacks or driving layups.
Eisenhower pressured Conneaut Lake on defense "a little more," said Curtis, in a 20-8 second quarter.
Ryan Williams added 11 points in the win for Ike, which hosts Conneaut Valley on Friday in another region game.
