Pool Hill Party
Community Sled Riding Party on the Pool Hill was postponed to this coming Sun., Jan. 15th providing we have snow. This event is sponsored by Youngsville Rec. Comm. 1-4. Free hotdogs and hot chocolate and door prizes
Fellowship Day
Saron Fellowship day at the Rouse Manor Apts. is Jan. 16 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Menu is chili and cornbread, crackers, dessert and beverage.
Class of '64
YHS Class of '64 will meet on Jan. 17 at the Youngsville American Legion at 12:30 p.m. Usually the luncheon is held on the 4th Tuesday of each month.
Monthly soup
luncheon
On Thursday, Jan. 19, at noon the Berea Lutheran Church, Rts. 958 and 6, will host their monthly soup luncheon. The soup will be chicken and vegetable rice. There is no charge at any time, but donations are gladly accepted.
Basketball clinic
There will be a basketball clinic for any Youngsville area first or second grader who would like to learn the fundamentals and skills of basketball. This clinic will begin in February and the cost is $10 per child. Boys and girls can register for this clinic. Registration is open until Jan. 13, 2012. Wrestling Novice
Tournament
The 2012 Youngsville Wrestling Novice Tournament will be the 10th Annual. It will be held on Jan. 14 at Youngsville High School, limited to the first 225 entries.
Age eligible are up to 12 years old day of tournament (Novice wrestlers only), fee is 17 ($20 walk-in). Club responsible for paying called in roster's whether wrestler shows or not, no refunds for any reason. For more information and for registration, phone Coach Scott Ishman at 814/563-1606.
Tree Angels
January 4th marked the completion of the Third Annual Youngsville Library Angel Tree fundraiser program.
"On behalf of the Library Board, staff, and Friends of the Library I would like to thank all the community members who made a donation to this annual fundraiser," stated Library Director, Kristy Wallace. "All of the donations that were made will directly benefit the library because they will be used to help pay for those every day expense items that are necessary to keep our library operational. I think that what makes this fundraiser different from others is that donors have specific options [listed on the ornaments] to choose from when deciding what they would like their donation to be used for. Thanks to our patrons the 2011's Angel Tree was definitely a success."

Joy Full Cafe
The community is invited to enjoy a free meal at the Youngsville Free Methodist Joy Full Cafe every Wednesday evening between 5:30 7 p.m. Chef Cline and his staff change the menu every week but the food is always tasty. After the meal, the Wednesday night Children's Program (20/20) starts at 6 p.m. and is an hour long. These classes are for children 3 years old and up to and including Grade 6. The "FUEL" Youth program for Grades 7 12 begins at 6:30 and runs until 8:30.
VITA Tax Preparation
Tax Time is here again, and Warren area volunteers, certified by the IRS, are once again ready to offer free tax assistance to those with incomes under $50,000. A variety of times are available by calling JoAn Norr, Coordinator at 814/563-6383 to set appointments. She will tell you where your special appointment place and time will be. E-filing of Federal and State taxes as well as preparation of Local and Pennsylvania Tax and Rent rebates will be offered.
ROY moving forward
At the regular monthly business meeting for the Revitalization of Youngsville officers were sworn in for the coming year. President - Kari Degnan, Design - Joanne Oviatt, - Organization - Helga Laibacher, Promotion - Anita Cohan, Treasurer - Gary Franklin, and Secretary - Cherri Watson. Reports were given on the Hometown Christmas, Winter Wonderland, and ROY Members Party. The budget for 2012 advertising was presented and approved.
It was suggested that a Wine and Fine Arts Festival be organized for April. The event committee will schedule a meeting.
The Streetscape plans for Railroad Street have been 'shovel' ready and bids should be going out soon. 2012 will see work starting on the revitalization project. The Bike-Hike Trail construction has started and should be done for this summer.
There are Regional Main Street Facade dollars available for businesses in Youngsville; call Joanne Oviatt for applications.
The annual membership drive has started. Individual memberships are still $10; businesses are $40 (covers cost of Business Directories); and hooded sweatshirts can be ordered at the Youngsville Pharmacy or by calling Helga Laibacher. The organization is looking for volunteers interested in the position of Asset Enhancement VP, Corn Festival Chairperson, and Golf Scramble chairperson. The public is welcome at the ROY meetings held the second Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. at the Youngsville Public Library.
ROY volunteers spend over 4000 hours annually working on revitalization plans and events. There are many aspects to the organization, many projects are not 'visible' to the public and may take years to become reality. The vision has not changed and the movement is always forward, sometimes slow, but steady.

Corn Festival
The first organizational meeting for the 2012 7th Annual Corn Festival was held at the Youngsville Public Library on Tuesday. Each year the committee spends countless hours preparing for the event. Topics discussed at the meeting were: location (Main Street or Island Park), bands and locations, vendor layout, NEW corn maze on Matthews Run, addition of a BINGO tent, Grand Marshall selection, promotional materials, and the delegation of events and contests. The next meeting will be on Wed., Feb. 1 at 9 a.m. at the Youngsville Public Library. Volunteers and suggestions are always welcome.
