Warren County Christian School's boys basketball team just couldn't find a way to cool off the hot shooting from Jamestown Bethel as the Lions dropped a tough league game, 60-37, Monday at WCCS.
"Their two guys (Frank and Pratt) and their inside passing game was awesome," said WCCS coach Steve Zwald. "It was just a beautiful thing. We tried to stop it but we just couldn't."
Frank, 24 points, and Pratt, 19 points, scored more than two-thirds of Jamestown's total points on the night. Zwald said his Lions (1-5, 0-4) were able to get shots tonight, but just couldn't get them to fall with any consistency. He added that Andrew Laird had the toughest night shooting, despite picking up six assists. Josh Carpenter was able to knock down four three-pointers for the Lions. Josh Wagonseller and Carson Moore each had nine points and Moore added 11 rebounds and four blocks.

Every cloud has a silver lining.
While Monday brought another lopsided loss - this one a 73-45 defeat at the hands of Iroquois - Youngsville boys basketball coach Ray Neidrick saw a number of promising things from his winless Eagles.
"The good thing is that this was a vast improvement over last Friday night," said Neidrick. "We never quit and everyone gave a lot of effort. (Broc) Horn was particularly exceptional tonight. I hope this carries over to our game tomorrow night."
The Eagles will look to end a 24-game losing streak Tuesday when they visit Eisenhower.
Horn's effort showed in the boxscore where the junior finished with a career-high 25 points. Teammate Tom Chapman also gave a strong performance, setting his own career-high with 14 points. Coll Dininny pulled down a team-best eight rebounds.
The Eagles' junior varsity team had a difficult night, dropping a 57-3 decision to the Braves. Trevor Flinn had Youngsville's lone bucket of the night.
