The Times Observer

COUDERSPORT - Despite having to forfeit at least four weight classes in each match, Sheffield finished 2-3 overall at Saturday's Coudersport Duals at Coudersport High School.

The highlight of the day might have also been the highlight of the season thus far for the Wolverines.

Sheffield pinned out in its last three matches to beat Athens, 36-33.

Trailing 30-18, Hunter Jones earned a pin at 195, and Eric Moreno a pin in 21 seconds at 220.

Slater Traister had to earn or decision at heavyweight to tie or better to win Sheffield's second straight match. He pinned his opponent in 1:27 for the 36-33 win.

Sheffield had already defeated Johnsonburg, 45-21, and Tyler Brisson stepped up big in a 9-3 decision. He was forced out of the rest of the duals due to injury, and Adam Barr stepped up to finish 3-1 on the day.

Sheffield lost to Lackawanna Township, Bradford and Curwensville to close out the day. The Wolverines had another chance to win in their last match, but fell 34-25 to Bradford.

Jones finished 4-1 on the day, and Moreno 3-2.
