Eagles, Knights, Dragons on PFN all-state football team

Eisenhower junior punter Nathan O'Brien was named to the Pennsylvania Football News (pafootballnews.com) All-State third team on defense for his efforts as the Knights' punter during the 2011 football season.

In addition, Youngsville teammates Sam Lucas, a senior, and T.J. Hardy, a junior, and Warren junior Austin Jerman were named to the PFN all-star honorable mention lists that were released on Wednesday.

O'Brien punted 29 times for Eisenhower during the recently completed season, totaling 1,069 total yards. O'Brien averaged 36.8 yards per punt with nine kicks inside the 20 and a long punt of 61 yards.

Lucas was an honorable mention selection at punter, having kicked 19 times for 693 yards during 2011. He averaged 36.5 yards per punt and placed two kicks inside the 20. His teammate, Hardy was honorable mention at kicker. Hardy converted four of eight field goals with a long boot of 37 as well as 39 of 49 extra-point attempts. In 64 total kickoffs, Hardy averaged 38.1 yards per kick.

Jerman punted 22 times for the Dragons, covering 808 yards. He averaged 36.7 yards per kick with 11 punts inside the 20 yard-line and a long kick of 56 yards.

Players are nominated by coaches for the PFN first, second and third all-state teams, as well as honorable mention, in Class A, AA, AAA and AAAA.
