Warren Wrestling Duals on Wednesday

It's tournament time for Warren County varsity basketball teams beginning Tuesday.

Sheffield's and Youngsville's boys basketball teams will compete in the Sheffield Holiday Tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday at Sheffield High School. In fact, Sheffield plays Youngsville there at 7:30 p.m.. The first game will be Kane vs. Cameron County. The consolation game is at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Sheffield High School, followed by a 3-point contest. The championship game will follow at 7:30 p.m., so either Sheffield or Youngsville will be in the championship.

Eisenhower's boys basketball team also plays on Tuesday at the Corry Tournament, opening at 6 p.m. against Titusville at Corry Area High School. Host Corry plays Union City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The consolation game is at 6 p.m. Wednesday with the championship game at 7:30 p.m. Funny thing, Eisenhower boys coach Dave Allenson coached the Lady Knights wo multiple Corry Tournament titles at this time of year when it was a girls tournament, now he has the boys there.

The 5-1 Warren boys basketball team plays in a classic-style in Albion on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Dragons varsity team plays against host Northwestern at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Northwestern High School, and Conneaut (Ohio) at 6 p.m. Wednesday. There is no championship game with this style tournament.

Warren's undefeated girls basketball team also plays on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Cranberry Tournament. East plays Westinghouse (Pittsburgh) at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Cranberry High School, and Warren opens with host Cranberry there at 7:30 p.m. The consolation game is at 6 p.m. Wednesday followed by the championship game.

Youngsville's girls basketball team opens at the Union City Tournament on Wednesday. Reynolds plays Cochranton at 6 p.m. at Union City High School, then Youngsville plays host Union City there at 7:30 p.m. The consolation game is at 6 p.m. Thursday with the championship game to follow.

Warren Wrestling Duals on Wednesday:

On Wednesday, the Warren Holiday Wrestling Duals are scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m., and host Warren (1-3) will be joined by both Youngsville (2-2) and Eisenhower (1-3) this year. Other teams include Bradford, Seneca, Titusville, Cameron County, Harbor Creek, and Kane.

Here is the wrestling schedule - on two mats - for Wednesday at Warren Area High School:

12:15 p.m.: Mat 1-Kane vs. Cameron County; Mat 2-Titusville vs. Seneca

1:30 p.m.: Mat 1-Warren vs. Harbor Creek; Mat 2-Cameron County vs. Eisenhower

2:45 p.m.: Mat 1-Kane vs. Seneca; Mat 2-Titusville vs. Harbor Creek

4 p.m.: Mat 1-Warren vs. Bradford; Mat 2-Titusville vs. Kane

5:15 p.m.: Mat 1-Cameron County vs. Seneca; Mat 2-Bradford vs. Harbor Creek

6:30 p.m.: Mat 1-Titusville vs. Youngsville; Mat 2-Bradford vs. Eisenhower

7:45 p.m.: Mat 1-Warren vs. Youngsville; Mat 2-Kane vs. Eisenhower

9 p.m.: Mat 1-Warren vs. Eisenhower; Mat 2-Cameron County vs. Youngsville

Sheffield is at the Otto-Eldred Tournament on Thursday and Friday. The Lady Wolverines will play Kane at 6:15 p.m. Thursday at Otto-Eldred High School. Host Otto will then play Oswayo Valley. The consolation game is at 6 p.m. Friday with the championship game to follow.

In a regular-season game, Eisenhower will play at Seneca on Thursday with junior varsity at 6 p.m. and varsity to follow. Eisenhower's boys basketball team plays in a regular-season at 5:30 p.m. on Friday vs. Oswayo Valley at Eisenhower High School.

With Warren, Youngsville and Eisenhower at the Warren Wrestling Duals on Wednesday (see sidebar), Sheffield is at the Rocky Grove Wrestling Tournament beginning Thursday.
