GIRLS HOOPS: Sheffield girls fall to 0-3

KANE - Sheffield fell to 0-3 in a 55-24 loss at 3-0 Kane on Wednesday.

Ashley Davidson and Juli Ely scored six points each for Sheffield, and teammate Jen Isenberg added five points in the loss.

Kane is a 21-win team from a season ago and first-year Sheffield coach Jeff Labesky said the Lady Wolverines did some things well, including limiting last year's top two leading scorers Amanda Saquin and Kaila Jamerson to a combined 11 points.

"We're making some strides," said Labesky. "We're taking some baby steps."

Sheffield lost the junior varsity game. No further details were reported.
