Borough schedule
Youngsville Borough Offices and Services will be closed on Mon., Dec 26th for the Christmas Holiday. Monday garbage pickup will be Tuesday, Tuesday will be Wednesday. There will be no recycling in December. The next recycle day will be Jan. 25, 2012.

Clues Club
Youngsville First United Methodist Church Clues Club and Sunday School Department will present a Christmas Pageant "Good News Jesus Is The King Of Kings" on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 6:15 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church. The pageant is put on by the children and young people who have worked hard to present this inspirational play. All who would like to attend are invited. A fellowship time will be held after the production in the Fellowship Hall.
Soup luncheon
Today at noon the Berea Lutheran Church, Rts. 958 and 6, will host its monthly soup luncheon. Today the soup is chili, with bread, dessert and beverage. There is no charge at any time, but donations are gladly accepted.
WCCS Christmas
Program
Warren County Christian School will have its annual Christmas program on Fri., Dec. 16, at 7 p.m. The children will perform Christmas selections of choral and orchestra music. The public is welcome to come and share with the students. The program is under the direction of Khlare Bracken and Denise Kolcharno.
The ladies ensemble of Warren County Christian School were privileged to be a part of the CASA concert on Dec. 11 at the Struthers Library Theatre. They had the opportunity to sing three songs in the program. The ensemble was under the direction of Denise Kolcharno and was accompanied by Marie Dahlgren.
Gift wrapping at YHS
Youngsville Girls Basketball Boosters will be holding a gift wrapping and bake sale at the Youngsville High School on Saturday, Dec. 17, from 9 - 4 p.m. Wrapping is by donations, no gift wrapping job is too big or small.
Gun Safe Raffle
The Youngsville Competition Cheerleaders are selling $5 raffle tickets for a 22-gun capacity Liberty Gun Safe with an electronic lock. Tickets can be purchased from any cheer parent, Watson's Sport Shop or Liberty Safe Shop in town. The drawing will be held on December 21st. This safe would be the perfect present to add to any man cave!

The Hometown Christmas Celebration committee wishes to thank all of those involved with the celebration. The businesses who participated in Find the Snowman contest and those groups who participated in the parade, sold food or entertained us the day of the celebration. The day was a great success. Basketball clinic
There will be a basketball clinic for any Youngsville area first or second grader who would like to learn the fundamentals and skills of basketball. This clinic will begin in February and the cost is $10 per child. Boys and girls can register for this clinic. Registration is open until Jan. 13, 2012. Novice Tournament
The 2012 Youngsville Wrestling Novice Tournament will be the 10th Annual. It will be held on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 at Youngsville High School, limited to the first 225 entries.
Age eligible are up to 12 years old day of tournament (Novice wrestlers only), fee is $17. Preregistration must be mailed by Tue., Jan. 3, 2012 ($20 walk ins). Club responsible for paying called in roster's whether wrestler shows or not, no refunds for any reason. One of the nicest novice trophies around. Love INC
Love INC In the name of Christ, of the Brokenstraw Valley is expanding outreach opportunities with many churches in the Brokenstraw Valley. There are new ministries in the making as well as some already developed. They range from clothing outlets, baby layettes, furniture, bedding, food pantries and many more new gap ministries are in the development stage. Currently 13 churches have partnered with Love INC ranging from Grand Valley, Sugar Grove, Youngsville, Irvine, Pittsfield, and Torpedo. Library Angel
Become a Library Angel and help the Youngsville Library. From now through Jan. 5 the Youngsville Library has a special tree on display near the circulation desk. The Library Angel Tree is filled with ornaments listing basic items (& their costs) that are vital to the survival of the library, everything from stamps to DVDs to copy paper and even general donations (just to name a few). Community members are encouraged to take an ornament from the tree and make a donation at the circulation desk. You will receive a Library Angel ornament to place back on the tree for each Angel-donation that is made. You also have the option to make a donation to honor someone or in memoriam.
"This annual fundraising event was started by the Library Friends in 2009 in response to the wave of cuts in State and county support," stated Library Director, Kristy Wallace "and has become yet another way for our library to try to counteract a portion of the over $11,000 loss in income that we have been experiencing on a yearly basis. We are truly grateful for all our 'Angels' who support us every year."
