Indians too much for Sheffield girls

December 13, 2011

Sheffield showed great improvement Monday, but it wasn't enough for the season's first win during a 40-28 loss to West Forest at Sheffield High School.

"We came out of the gate a little better than we did this weekend," said Sheffield coach Jeff Labesky. "We shot the ball well in the first quarter, but went a little cold in the second. We really got beat up on the boards tonight. That was the biggest difference in the game."

The Wolverines trailed 25-16 at the break and cut the lead to six at various points in the third. However, Sheffield was unable to get any closer than that and the Lady Indians slowly extended the advantage in the fourth quarter.
