Back-to-back.

Warren made sure its hold on county supremacy wouldn't be touched this year as the Dragons dominated the girls championship game of the annual Warren County Tip-off Tournament, defeating the Eisenhower Knights 66-16 Saturday at Warren Area High School.

The young Knights entered the game having won their season opener on Friday, but were no much for the stronger and more experienced Dragons.

"All season our goal is going to be to improve both offensively and defensively from game to game," said Warren coach Lisa Ruhlman. "We've got some things to work on during our non-region schedule so that we're playing our best basketball when region play gets underway."

Jaimie Eaton found herself beating the Knights down the court early and often Saturday as the Dragons built a 21-6 lead after one quarter and a 33-8 lead at the break. Eaton finished with a tournament high 22 points as Warren cruised to the tournament title.

Alexa Bupp added 10 points and five steals for the Dragons, Sabrina Anderson added nine points and 12 rebounds and Emily Sherman had seven points and six boards. Kristin Hultquist also finished with six rebounds and Taylor Mineweaser dished out five assists.

The Lady Knights were limited to just six points in each of the first and third quarters and only two points in both the second and fourth stanzas.

Kristen Williams and Alyssa Peterson led Eisenhower with four points each while four players - Lyssa Knapp, Holly Chapman, Haylie Birt and Keri Santo all scored two points.

Warren (2-0) will host Titusville on Tuesday while the Knights (1-1) host Saegertown Thursday.

Consolation Game

Youngsville 51, Sheffield 12

After all too often finding itself on the wrong end of lopsided scores, Youngsville had to enjoy this one.

The Lady Eagles limited Sheffield to just two field goals and soared their way to victory, 51-12, in Saturday's Warren County Tip-off Tournament girls consolation game at Warren Area High School.

Ashley Davidson had a pair of first quarter field goals for the Sheffield Wolverines, but Youngsville wouldn't allow another Wolverines shot from the floor to fall.

Youngsville led 12-4 after the first quarter and 26-6 at the break. Things got even better for the Eagles in the third as Youngsville held the opposition scoreless.

"We definitely picked up the intensity on defense today," said Eagles assistant coach Tony Richards. "There is still plenty to work on. Despite scoring 51 points, our offense wasn't very fluid today. It still looked too sloppy at times."

Katie Chuzie, while diminutive in stature, played a big game for the Eagles, finishing with 15 points. Chuzie knocked down a total of three three-point field goals. Amber Fox joined Chuzie in double figures with 12 points. Freshman Kennedy Cratty added seven points and twin sister Karissa Cratty scored the first six points of her varsity career.

For Sheffield, Davidson did the bulk of the damage with nine points. Abby Labesky and Marlea Sprandle also scored for the Wolverines.

Youngsville (1-1) returns to the court Tuesday, hosting Rocky Grove. Sheffield (0-2) hosts West Forest on Monday.
