The section includes coaches' looks at the county's high school sports teams, with schedules and rosters, including the cover girls from Warren girls basketball team, including, from left, in front, Emily Sherman, Kristin Hultquist and Kristie Reynolds and, in back, Jaimie Eaton, Sabrina Anderson, Sam Bevevino and Taylor Mineweaser. There is also a feature story on Youngsville football's impact on its winter sports teams. Varsity programs this fall include boys and girls basketball teams at Warren, Eisenhower, Youngsville, Sheffield, Warren County Christian and Tidioute Charter, wrestling teams at Warren, Youngsville, Eisenhower and Sheffield, and a swim team at Warren.

About the Cover
It didn’t take long to realize the Warren girls basketball team is making this their season, just like the Lady Dragons quickly made this their photo shoot. The Dragons advanced to the District 10 Class AAA playoffs — once again — in 2010-11, but there’s something different about them this year. They have this look in their eyes. They want more in 2011-12, and almost everybody’s back —including all five starters. My idea for the “Winter Sports” cover photo was to line them up and make them look MEAN, make them look INTENSE. But, they made clear, this was their photo shoot. They quickly pointed out that, yes, they are athletes, but they’re also ladies. They wanted to dress up in black dresses and wear make-up like ladies. But still look intimidating for the cover. From left, representing the Dragons in black dresses and sneakers, are Jaimie Eaton, Sabrina Anderson, Kristie Reynolds, Sam Bevevino, Kristin Hultquist, Emily Sherman and Taylor Mineweaser. Only this time, they’re smiling.
