Floyd Arthur "Farmer" Atkins, Sr., 65, of Clarendon, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at UPMC Hamot Medical Center.
Floyd was born July 9, 1946, in Jamestown, NY., the son of the late Floyd and Doris Soper Marucci. He was a graduate of Warren High School. He was employed at Berenfield Container Corporation for 37 years from which he retired in 2008. He was member of the Tiona United Methodist Church, a longtime member of the Clarendon Volunteer VFD and the Warren County Fire Police. Floyd enjoyed riding his CanAm Spyder with his wife, Bonnie, and enjoyed riding his motorcycles with his grandson, Stephen. Floyd and his wife spent time this past summer traveling across the United States. He also enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, and his many friends and family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Hoffman Atkins, whom he married on June 18, 2011; two children, daughter, Kathleen Rafalski and her husband, Stephen, of Grand Valley, Pa., son, Floyd Atkins, Jr., of Weldbank, Pa.; 3 grandsons, Stephen Rafalski, Jr., Raymond Rafalski, and Kevin Rafalski; two brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Sheffield First United Methodist Church, 5 W. Main St., Sheffield, Pa., on Saturday, November 26, for two hours prior to a funeral service to be held there at 12 p.m., with Rev. Martin Reynolds, pastor, Tiona United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Barnes Cemetery.
