Jordan Gurdak fumbled on the third play of the game last Friday against Saegertown at Youngsville High School, and the Panthers recovered. From there, the Youngsville junior went on to become the Times Observer Athlete of the Week in all of nine carries. He rushed for 221 yards with touchdown runs of 70, 60, 53 and 11 yards in a 48-22 win to help Youngsville to a 10-0 regular season and Region 2 championship. Did we mention he had 11 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble on defense? And he only played in the first half. Gurdak is the Times Observer Athlete of the Week, sponsored by McDonald's.
