Nine candidates were seeking five seats on the Warren County School District's board of directors, but Mary Ann Paris, in Region II, was the only candidate who locked up her spot in Tuesday's municipal election.

In Region I, Arthur Stewart - who ran unopposed on the ballot - received 1,473 votes in unofficial results. Write-in votes for Paul Boger , who also was seeking a seat in Region I, will not be disclosed until Monday.

In Region II, Mary Ann Paris secured her seat on the school board with 1,998 votes, which was good enough for 62 percent of total votes for candidates on the ballot. Two seats were up for grabs in that region, which also had Donna Zariczny on the ballot and Joe Colosimo as a write-in candidate.

In Sheffield, Paris recived 535 votes, which soundly defeated Zariczny - who received 161. Zariczny received 1,206 total votes, and will win the second Region II seat if Colosimo falls short of her total.

Two seats for school board were also up for grabs in Region III, which had Michael Zamborik and Catrina Leamon on the ballot and Nancy McDanel and Kim Angove as write-in candidates. As of Tuesday night, Zamborik received 1,891 votes to Leamon's 1,010.

However, no winner can be declared in Region III until write-in votes are calculated.

Denny Munksgard won the race for county treasurer in a landslide, highlighting a multitude of county-wide offices that were up also up for election on Tuesday.

While results are unofficial, Munksgard's 6,091 votes easily defeated Democratic challenger Scott Pascuzzi, who tallied 2,839 votes. After the results were revealed, Munksgard said that he's "felt good (about the election) for the last month or so. I would like to thank the veterans because without them we wouldn't have a government and I wouldn't have been able to run." He added thanks "to all the people in the community, all my supporters, I was overwhelmed with all the support."

In the race for District Justice in the City of Warren and southeastern county communities, Glenn Carlson also won big, tallying 2,828 votes with challengers Alan Kiser of the Constitution Party receiving 340, and Hobson McKown tallying 140.

Also in the City, three City Council seats were filled. Howard Ferguson received 37 percent of the vote with Christopher Park, 32 percent, and Sam Harvey, 29 percent, also locking in positions.

Ken Klakamp ran unopposed for Sheriff and received 8,226 votes as did Lori Bimber, who received 7,534 votes for the position of Register and Recorder/Clerk of Orphans Court.

Laura Bauer retained her district judgeship, running unopposed and receiving 3,133 votes.

Three auditor positions were likely filled as well with Republicans Suzanne Swanson and Nikita Rugg and Democrat John David Pirillo the only three candidates on the ballot.

The two jury commissioners were also unofficially elected; Republican Dick Campbell totaled 5,320 votes and Democrat Linda Hessley fininshed with 3,283 votes.
