SAEGERTOWN - Erie First Christian upset New Penn Christian Conference co-champion Warren County Christian School, 3-1, on Friday in the tournament playoffs.
"Erie First did play very, very well," said WCCS coach Monica Kerr, whose Lady Lions fall to 13-2 in a 16-25, 21-25, 29-27, 23-25 loss.
Still, WCCS will play for third place in the tourney there on Saturday.
"It's way beyond what I ever could have imagined," said Kerr of the regular season co-championship.
On Friday, senior Christina Girard had six service points, one ace, two kills and 16 assists; senior Rachel Wilkins three kills; Allyssa Kerr 16 points, six aces four kills and three digs; Dymphee Zortman nine points, five aces, five kills and one block; Kaitlyn Weidner seven points, three aces and eight kills; Jessie Lauffenburger seven kills, and; Alivia Kelsey 11 digs.
WCCS plays Meadville Calvary Baptist for third place.
