WCCS Announcement
Warren County Christian School has announced two new staff members to its faculty. Holly Smith is part of the secondary English staff and also teaches 9th/10th Bible. Rob Ohrn is part of the secondary mathematics staff and also assists with the 11th/12th grade P.E. classes.
Warren County School Board Region III current candidates will have a meet and greet today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Youngsville Fire Hall. The Revitalization Of Youngsville (ROY) volunteers work in a team-oriented, goal directed atmosphere striving to improve our economy and quality of life here in Warren County. Children will be developing into the workforce. Their education and training will affect our future. Therefore, ROY has arranged a forum, through the generosity of the Youngsville Fire Department, to hear the thoughts and opinions of the announced candidates running for seats on the Warren County school board. Soup luncheons
The Berea Lutheran Church monthly soup luncheons resume this month on Thursday, Oct. 20 at noon in the education building. Soup is beef barley. Rolls, butter, dessert and beverage are provided. The luncheon is free to all. Donations are accepted, but not required. They will also be hosting Chicken and Biscuit dinner on Tuesday, Oct. 25 from 4:30 to 6:30 PM at the education building.
Spaghetti dinner
Youngsville Eagle Instrumental Boosters will host a spaghetti dinner on Sunday, Oct. 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the EUM Church on 2nd St. in Youngsville, cost is a donation.
Pumpkin roll sale
The Youngsville Eagle Instrumental Boosters will be selling pumpkin rolls, half rool for $5 and a full roll is $10. Orders can be placed with any booster member or by calling 814/563-2238 on or before Oct. 25. Orders can be picked up on Saturday, Oct. 29 at the EUM Church on 2nd St. in Youngsville between 1 and 3 .pm. They will be ready to freeze and keep for the holidays.
Class of 1964
Youngsville Class of '64 will meet for lunch at 12:30, Tuesday, Oct. 25 at the Youngsville American Legion.
Fingerprinting
Northwest Savings Bank and the Youngsville Police Department will be holding child fingerprinting day on Friday, Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Youngsville Northwest Savings Bank office. This is a free service to the community & they will also be serving refreshments.
Otterbein UMC Bash
There will be an Elementary Bash on Oct. 28 from 6 - 8 p.m. for all elementary children at the Pittsfield Otterbein UMC. Parents are welcome too! The event is free. We will have free popcorn and drinks, games, prizes and a live band. Other snacks will be available to purchase with proceeds going to our playground fund.
Scrap drive
Hosted by the Youngsville Eagle Instrumental Boosters, Saturday, Oct. 29 8am-6pm on Davis Street in Youngsville, no item is too big or too small. If you have a large item that you are unable to haul call 814-688-5263 and we will come pick it up.
Luncheon benefit
A soup and dessert luncheon will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Youngsville Free Methodist Church, Joy Hall, starting at 11:30 a.m. until gone. Serving homemade cheesy broccoli, chicken noodle, chili or vegetable beef soups and a variety of home-baked desserts. The cost is just a donation of your choosing. All proceeds will be given to the Zaffino Family.
Trunk or Treat
The Youngsville Free Methodist Church will once again be hosting "Trunk or Treat" during Youngsville Trick or Treat hours, Monday, Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. Anyone interested in decorating their car (and themselves!) can call the Church Office at 814/563-9009 to reserve a spot. Make sure to include the Joy Hall on East Main Street when you're planning your route.
Spaghetti dinner
The YHS Alumni Homecoming Committee will be holding a Spaghetti Dinner on Election Night, Nov. 8, at the Joy Hall beside the Free Methodist Church. This event is open to the public for a donation. We will start serving at 4 p.m. until gone.
Heritage Day winners
The Friends of the Rouse auctioned off two beautiful baskets (Apple Pickin' Time and Coffee Time) and a quilt at the Heritage Day celebration. The winners were Connie Hutley, Karen Braley, and Susan Kramer.
Leaf pick up
Leaf pick up started Oct. 17 for the Borough of Youngsville. Please rake leaves to the curb. Do not rake leaves into the street. Please, no stones. Bundle sticks and branches and pile separately. The following is the schedule by streets for the rest of the month.Monday - Railroad, East Main, Davis, College, Orchard, Oak, and Church Pleasant.Tuesday - Woodard, Poplar, Ford, IOOF, Marsh, and Bates.Wednesday - Brown Hill, Water, Mill, Highland, Second, West Main, West Main Extension, High, Broad, Beckenwood, and Sonia.Thursday - 3rd to 9th, Dillon, Division, North Main, Yucha, McGraw, Spring, Hillside,and LaVerne.Friday - Areas not completed on assigned days.

Youngsville Elementary First Grade class would like to thank all who bought the gas card raffle tickets for one of their field trip fundraisers. The winner of the $25 gas card was Tom VanHouten. The first grade will be selling mini gourmet cookbooks starting Oct. 26th. The money raised will go towards the end-of-the-year field trip.
